Hi! I'm Bruce.
The newest four-legged addition to Patents+TMS is the undeniably adorable BRUCE. Acquired from PAWS Chicago (http://www.pawschicago.org), a no-kill animal shelter in Chicago, on April 14, 2012, Bruce has begun his working life with daily trips to the office of Patents+TMS. Bruce has proven himself to be quite the load — sleeping on the couch for hours on end!
The veterinarian who examined Bruce estimated he was probably about two years old — and though he is slightly more mature, he still exhibits plenty of puppy when his energy is not spent through chasing squirrels or walks in the neighborhood.
PAWS identified Bruce as a 'coonhound' that PAWS took in from a kill shelter in Missouri. Since that time through my own research, I have more positively identified him as a tri-color treeing walker coonhound. If you read the Wikepedia post for this breed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treeing_Walker_Coonhound), you would think that Wikipedia editors had Bruce sitting right next to them to describe the breed! The listing is BRUCE (or at least it seems that way)!
If you are near our office and want to stop in and say 'hello' to Bruce, feel free to do so! Don't be offended if he doesn't even move from the couch--he's about the most calm, docile dog I have ever been around. His long ears and droopy eyes will magnetize you towards him! Just remember that Bruce is here at Patents+TMS to work--or at least make sure we enjoy our days while we are working!
